The team at MCI Media Ltd, organisers of events for the container, port and maritime industry, are delighted following the success of their 9th International Port & Terminal Technology Conference & Exhibition USA 2017, which took place on in April in Norfolk, Virginia.

Aimed at representatives from operations, maintenance and engineering across the port and container market, the event delivered over 20 technical presentations from an impressive panel of industry experts attracting in excess of 185 attendees.

Specially designed as an intimate, niche and focused conference – with an exhibition comprising a select handful of market-leaders - Port & Terminal Technology shirks the typical trade show format preferring to build on a quality versus quantity approach.

This formula clearly works with the event establishing itself as a “must-attend” for key port, terminal and maritime representatives, receiving much positive feedback from attendees citing Port & Terminal Technology as enjoyable, informative and worthwhile.

The convention attracted participants both old and new, and in particular, welcomed its largest contingent of port authorities and terminal operators to date.

Port & Terminal Technology was also pleased to garner prominent industry sponsors including igus and Konecranes, the latter of whom who have given a much-appreciated vote of confidence by returning as silver sponsors every year since 2009.

There were a number of notable highlights across the two-day event!
First and foremost, the organisers were thrilled to be welcomed by The Port of Virginia, which not only officially supported the show, but provided a number of technical presentations as well as a complimentary waterborne port tour aboard the Carrie B.

A perfect opportunity to relax, socialise and network, the tour was enjoyed by all!

Moreover, the port provided visual aids and renderings whilst representatives explained the expansions, developments & improvements currently underway.

The conference was host to keynote speaker, John Reinhart, CEO & Executive Director, The Port of Virginia.

With the Port of Houston first hosting the event back in 2009 - and with Long Beach, Miami, Norfolk, Savannah and Charleston under its belt - Port & Terminal Technology looks set to continue its success and provide value to attendees into 2018 and beyond!

Details on the 2018 event, including location and dates, will be released in due course.
